Michael is a Licensed Massage Therapist with 25+ years of experience as a former owner of Boulder wellness center and now finding joy in private practice. His work addresses core and root issues behind chronic pain. He utilizes state of the of art tools like Neurostims, IR and red laser therapy, craniosacral therapy, cupping, myofascial release, acu-pressure, and/or massage therapy. Yet, the newest pain-brain neuroscience is what offers Michael the understanding of meeting his clients needs and when to refer out. His goal is to help his clients understand the emotional and physical relationship to overcoming chronic pain. He embraces the healing journey with compassion and tools for regaining mobility and ease in their bodies.
With over 25 years of experience, I specialize in personal training, Active Release Technique (ART), massage therapy, Craniosacral Therapy, neurostim therapy, somatic movement, and visceral manipulation. My education and certifications enable me to explore the profound connection between the brain and body, aiming to alleviate stress and pain while cultivating a life of gratitude and joy. Identifying as a "Restorative Therapist," I am continuously evolving my practice towards coaching. I focus on chronic pain related to past traumas and surgeries, particularly for clients dealing with knee, elbow, or back pain linked to previous abdominal surgeries and high stress levels. I am also passionate about educating clients on breathwork and psychedelic therapy, supporting them through post-psychedelic integration bodywork.
Most of 1st time visits will be educated to how many return visits (usually 3-6). For clients coming in with multiple injury patterns and many past surgeries, min. of 6 sessions may be needed to change up the brain-body-pain patterns. New clients recommended to book 85 min. sessions to allow for assessments and tx. The 1st and 2nd sessions are usually higher % of Neurostim work for recalibrating the brain from past injuiries that may have upregulated your nervous system = increase of pain anywhere in the body and increasing internal anxiety..
Your follow ups may be shorter durations. Please bring a pair of shorts and sports bra or tank top to ease in evaluation and treatment.
If looking for quality bodywork for body aches and de-stressing, book in for 65 or 85 min. If I am booked, see www.facwellness.com and book with Trevor Harris, Dan Rapkin, or Victoria Robertson.
